I Love You More

My kids and I read a great book recently. It's called, "I Love You More," by Laura Duksta and Karen Keesler ("Hippie and The Bald Chick"). My daughter and I often play a game where we say, "I love you more than ____," so we especially enjoyed this sweet story. As a bonus, you can flip the book for a different take on the story (one side tells the parent's side of the story, the other side tells the child's side). If you love telling your kids how much you love them, then this is a book for you. By affirming your love for your kids, you give them so much confidence and positive self-esteem. Happy reading!

Oh - check out this site and this one as well for more information on this great book.

Book Reviews

A few books I've read lately:

1) Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte - Wonderful piece of literature! Wish I'd read it sooner. It took me a while to really get into it, but then I couldn't put it down. Beautiful love story too.
2) The Sea by John Banville - I kept hoping that this plot would evolve into something interesting, but it just didn't. Anyone read this one and had a different opinion? I felt like I had to work really hard to make myself finish this book.
3) Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon - This is the second book in the Outlander series, and I liked it even more than the first book, Outlander. I was a little disappointed when I first started reading Outlander, because it was different than what I was expecting. I had hoped for a historical novel about time travel, and what I was reading at first seemed more like a romance novel (some of the scenes are pretty descriptive...know what I mean??). But the more I read, the more into the story I became. Gabaldon is such a talented storyteller. I already have the third book, Voyager, on reserve at my library (I'd better read fast...there are already six books in this series!).

I'm working on reading Anne of Green Gables now, and I want to start A Thousand Splendid Suns, Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice. Wish I had more time to read!!!
